On the surface, slots are the simplest of New Jersey online casino games.
You click a button, spin the reels, and let luck decide if you’re a winner.
However, intricate themes, multiple paylines, and bonus games can also make today’s online slots hard to decipher. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out how to win.
This Online Slots 101 series has been designed to do the work for you. This is where we outline how to play and how to beat some of the most popular online slots in NJ.
It might not get you the massive progressive jackpot you’re after, but it will most certainly make it easier to figure out how to win it.
The series continues here with Going Nuts, available at the following NJ gambling websites:
Go Nuts And Win Borgata’s Big One
Going Nuts is a relatively basic five-reel and 30-payline forest-animal-themed online slot. As such, most of the slot’s symbols are based on animals and imagery found throughout a typical forest, particularly in winter.
That means plenty of squirrels, rabbits, nuts, and acorns.
Having five reels means Going Nuts features five columns filled with these and various other forest-themed symbols. The 30 paylines refer to the fact there are 30 different ways those symbols can line up to make you a winner. Check out the game’s Rules and Pay Table links to view more information and the pattern of all 30 paylines.
Like almost all slots, wins Going Nuts begin when you line up three or more of the same symbols on any one of the 30 lines. However, Going Nuts also features a Scatter symbol (Gojng Nuts logo) that can lead to free spins.
Players can trigger the Going Nuts Free Spins feature by finding three or more Scatter symbols anywhere on the screen.
An acorn tree pops up on the screen with 15 nuts. Players then choose a randomly assigned number of nuts. Each contains a random number of free spins or a free spin multiplier.
The results are tallied up and the free spins start. All wins are multiplied by any free spins multiplier found. The feature can also be re-triggered during a free spin.
Squirrels pay, Big One Jackpot Random
The squirrel symbols are the game’s highest paying. Other animals like the Fox, Rabbit, and Skunk are close. Nuts, Acorns, and traditional playing cards valued nine through ace also pay when a player finds three or more connected.
However, most slot players find Going Nuts attractive because it is part of Borgata’s Big One Series.
This is a series of five jackpots at different levels available on five different slots. At last count, the jackpots were worth a combined $2.75 million.
The four other online slots in the series are:
- Biker Pigs
- Luck ‘O The Jackpot
- Melon Madness
Like Going Nuts, each offers random access to the following five Big One Series jackpots:
- Blitz Cash Jackpot
- Quick Cash Jackpot
- Super Cash Jackpot
- Mega Cash Jackpot
- Colossal Cash Jackpot
All five jackpots are progressive, which means they grow with every spin on any of the slots.
The game also triggers all jackpot wins randomly. Although, a player’s chances of winning increase with bet size. No jackpot win can occur during a free spin.
However, every other spin on Going Nuts offers players the chance to win a Big One jackpot.
The game randomly transports players to the Big One Series jackpot screen after a spin. There they find a list of all five jackpots and a color wheel with three circles.
There are five colors on the wheel and each corresponds to a different jackpot. The colors change inside the three circles after the player hits the ‘PLAY’ button to spin them.
The colors stop changing when the player hits the ‘STOP’ button. Then, a pop-up appears displaying the type of Jackpot and the amount won.
The current jackpot values are also visible from the main game screen at all times.
Starting the game
