Which NJ online casinos offer Texas Hold’em Plus and DJ Wild Poker?

Since both games are new releases, other NJ online casinos that don’t offer them as yet might do so down the road, especially if customers show a big interest. Meanwhile, the following NJ online casinos offer both Texas Hold’em Plus  and DJ Wild Poker:

Or you can play DJ Wild Poker but not the latest version of Casino Hold’em called Texas Hold’em Plus at all of the following NJ online casinos:

How to play the online casino poker game Texas Hold’em Plus

Texas Hold’em Plus basics

If you’re a fan of traditional Texas Hold’em, you will have no problem at all learning the fundamentals of Texas Hold’em Plus since it’s essentially the same game. Even if you’ve never played Hold’em before, you’ll catch on quickly to this version of the game.

Texas Hold’em Plus is a fast-paced game. It gives you the chance to test your poker luck and skills without worrying about the opponent players’ hands. Instead, you get to play heads-up against the dealer.

Texas Hold’em Plus has a return to player (RTP) of 97.01 percent.

Minimum and maximum bets

You can play this game either in demo mode or for real money. If you’re new to Texas Hold’em or haven’t played in a while, you might want to try it in demo mode first to get a  better feel for the game. However, when you’re ready to play for real money, you can choose from a very wide betting range. The minimum bet is only 10 cents while the maximum is $100 or even higher, depending on where you play. For example, Golden Nugget Online Casino offers a $300 maximum bet.

Types of bets

Ante and side bet

Each hand starts with your placing a mandatory ante bet.

At the same time, if you wish, you can also place an optional Plus side bet. The side bet can be either for the same amount or a different amount. It pays out when your two starting cards are a pair or Ace-King. The highest possible payout is 30:1 for a pair of Aces. But an Ace-King also pays nicely: 25:1 if suited or 16:1 if unsuited. However, a pair of 2s through 10s only pays 3:1.

The outcome of the side bet is decided independently of the main bet. In other words, you can win the side bet but lose the main bet, or vice versa, or you can win or lose both bets.

My advice is to forego the side bet because the house edge is higher than if you simply stick to the basic bets. However, if you want to place the side bet occasionally for fun,  I suggest a small wager for a fraction of your ante bet. For example, I tried it once in demo mode with a $5 ante and $1 side bet. I got AK unsuited and bet it all the way to the river. Both the hand and the side bet were winners, for a return of $61 on my $26 investment!

The flop, turn, and river

After you have placed your ante bet (and side bet if desired), you will receive two cards face-up and the dealer will receive two cards face-down. You must then decide whether or not your hand looks good enough to continue with it. If you like your chances, bet 2x the ante to see the flop (the first three community cards). Otherwise, fold your hand. When you fold, you forfeit your ante bet, but it’s often a better option than risking more money on a hand that has very little chance of winning.

Never fold your hand in this game after you see the flop. If you don’t like the flop, you can check and see the turn card (4th community card) for free, and check again to see the river (final community card) for free. However, if you have a good hand, keep betting. If you choose to bet, the cost before the turn and again before the river is the same as your ante bet.

Once all five community cards are on the table, the dealer’s two cards are revealed to determine whose hand is better, yours or the dealer’s.

If your winning hand is a straight or higher, you will be paid 2x your total bet including the ante. However, if your winning hand is ranked lower than a straight, the payout is 2x your bet not counting the ante plus your money back on the ante.

Of course, if you and the dealer have hands of identical value, the result is a push for the entire bet.

How to play the online casino poker game DJ Wild Poker

DJ Wild Poker basics

DJ Wild Poker is a form of stud poker The main difference between stud poker and hold’em is that there are no community cards in stud poker games. Seven-card stud used to be popular in Atlantic City, but it is very hard to find anymore. Maybe this game will be the start of a stud poker comeback in both online and land-based casinos.

DJ Wild Stud Poker is a form of Five-card stud rather than Seven-card stud, and like in Texas Hold’em Plus, there are no other players at the table–just you against the dealer.

Also, while being entertained by a live DJ  would make this fun game even more fun, that’s an option you might find in a party pit or outdoors at an Atlantic City casino but not online. The DJ in the game’s title refers to deuces and jokers, both of which are wild!

Each round is played with as 53-card deck with the extra card being a joker.

You can play one, two, or three hands at a time. However, if you can afford it, playing three hands is your best bet because it gives you three chances to get one or more wild cards while the dealer only has a single chance.

DJ Wild Stud Poker has a return to player (RTP) of 94.33 percent.

Minimum and maximum bets

You can play this game either in demo mode or for real money. The minimum bet (to start a hand) is 20 cents, and the maximum (at Golden Nugget Online Casino) is a whopping $1,350.

Types of bets

Prior to receiving your cards, both an ante bet and a blind bet (in the same amount) are mandatory. An additional side bet (in any amount) that you will get trips or better (which happens often thanks to the wild cards) is optional. You can win the side bet even when you lose your main bet (or vice versa).

Next, you will receive five cards face-up while the dealer will receive five cards face-down.

Look at your hand(s) carefully to determine if it’s worth playing or not. You have two options: bet 2x the ante if you wish to play your hand further or fold. If you choose to fold, you will automatically forfeit both the ante and blind bets.

It is important to note that this game can get expensive quickly, so make sure you are adequately capitalized. For example, with $5 ante and blind bets, if you play three hands a time, not counting the optional side bet, you will be risking a minimum of $30 and possibly as much as $60 on every hand. That’s why on hands you have little chance of winning, it’s best to fold and cut your losses rather than risk losing double.

DJ Wild Stud Poker payouts

See the paytable accompanying the game for the ante, blind, and play bets for different types of hands.

Side bets are evaluated separately but pay out more for natural hands of trips or higher than for those that use a wild card.
