Everyone’s A Winner Again In The Golden Nugget September Race!
Two-thirds of the Golden Nugget monthly races are now completed. But that means you still have four more monthly races to go, starting with the one that is currently underway–the Golden Nugget September Race.
But the September race is extra special. Therefore, regardless of whether or not you have been competing all year long, hoping to snag a fabulous year-end prize, this is an opportunity that no registered Golden Nugget Online Casino player should miss out on.
For the third time this year–the other two times were in March and June–Everyone’s A Winner!
How the Golden Nugget September Race, where Everyone’s A Winner, works
Many races that are tests of physical endurance had to be canceled in 2020 for safety reasons, while others like the Kentucky Derby got postponed to a later date or took place virtually instead. However, the Golden Nugget races required no adjustment because they are already virtual events.
And, of course, physical endurance (unless you count the ability to play at a furious pace for long stretches of time) hardly matters.
Prizes get awarded based on how high your own play ranks on the weekly, monthly, and yearlong leaderboards when compared to that of the other entrants in the respective races.
Golden Nugget probably also noticed that some players who opted in at the start of 2020 or soon afterward, undoubtedly lured by the huge prizes awarded to the top participants, would drop out.
Presumably, once they realized that their play fell far short of the minimum to be in contention for a prize, they decided, probably correctly, that overbetting their bankroll just to stay in the race wasn’t worth the effort.
But Golden Nugget, being the innovative and creative NJ gambling website that it is, came up with the perfect solution.
How the Golden Nugget September Race differs from most of its other races
During a few months of the year only–and September 2020 is one of those months–every participant who meets the very reasonable minimal requirements, regardless of leaderboard ranking, is guaranteed to win a piece of the prize pool.
Meanwhile, as is only fair, the participants who play the most win the same guaranteed secondary prize as those who finish behind them. But they also win another prize based on where they finish on the leaderboard.
Lastly, Golden Nugget offers another compelling reason to participate in this month’s race.
Instead of fixing the prize pool at $60,000, which is the usual monthly total, or even at the rare amount of $75,000, the total prize pool for the Golden Nugget September race is guaranteed to be at least $100,000.
A bigger prize pool means bigger individual prizes for everybody!
When does the Golden Nugget September race start and end?
The 2020 September race, like all of the Golden Nugget monthly races, started on the first day of the month and continues until 11:59 p.m. on the last day of the month.
Because the month is half over, if this were a regular monthly race, unless you have already racked up a lot of leaderboard points from your play so far, your chances for a prize would be slim to none. But this is a race where regardless of what date you join and even if you only play minimally, a prize is guaranteed.
How to participate in the Golden Nugget September “Everyone’s A Winner” race
If you’re a veteran participant in these competitions, you already know the drill and have probably been playing and earning points at a steady clip since the start of the month.
Therefore, if your total play for the month is sufficient, you could win two prizes for your September play. On top of the same secondary bonus money prize that you and everyone else in the race get just for participating, you might win another bigger prize based on where you stand on the leaderboard.
Furthermore, all of the points you earn in September will be added to your total from each of your previous months’ play to count towards your grand total at the end of the year.
Otherwise, when the time comes for Golden Nugget to distribute this month’s whopping $100K or bigger prize pool, you won’t win one of the top prizes, but you won’t walk away from your efforts empty-handed either. In the Golden Nugget September race, everyone’s a winner!
That said, if you’re a registered player at Golden Nugget Online Casino and you’re not already off to the races this month, what are you waiting for? Everyone is welcome, including newcomers as well as old-timers. Participation in previous 2020 races at Golden Nugget is not required.
Here’s what you need to do, if you haven’t already, to get started:
- Log into your GoldenNuggetCasino.com account as soon as possible.
- Go to Available Bonuses and opt into the September 2020 Everyone’s A Winner promotion.
- Make a single deposit of $20 or more.
- Start playing!
How to earn points on the September leaderboard
As the table below shows, you can earn points in two ways: by making deposits of $50 or more and by playing. All casino games and sports wagers count, so feel free to play any games you wish. However, the two fastest ways to rack up points are frequent deposits and slot play.
How much can you win the Golden Nugget September race?
All of the prizes in the Golden Nugget monthly races come in the form of bonus money credited to the player’s account. As mentioned, the prize pool for most of this year’s monthly races has been fixed at $60,000 with the top 500 players each winning a share.
However, in both July and August, Golden Nugget sweetened the pot with an extra $15,000 in prizes and increased the total number of players collecting a prize to 750.
But in September, just like in March and June of this year, the total prize pool is guaranteed to reach at least $100,000!
While the prize pool opened at $85,000, due to the following provisions, there was no way it would stay at that level.
- Each day when at least one player wins $20K or more, Golden Nugget will add $200 to the prize pool.
- Each day when no one wins $20K or more, Golden Nugget will add $1,000 to the prize pool.
Given these conditions, Golden Nugget guarantees that the final prize pool will contain, at the very least, $100,000 but possibly as much as $116,000.
Distribution of prizes
The races with $60K or $75K fixed prize pools still leave many players with no prize at all. But 500 players in the $60K race and 7,500 players in the $75K race do win prizes.
With such a huge number of prizes to award, in contrast to some very attractive prizes for players who finish very high up on the leaderboard, the prizes for those who still qualify for a prize but wind up in the bottom sector, are quite small.
In the September race, however, only the top 20 players on the leaderboard win a prize based on their finish (five more players than in the March and June races which also included the Everyone’s A Winner feature). But (as with the March and June races), there’s not a single small prize in the lot.
Top prizes for the top 20 players
Since what the final prize pool will amount to remains unknown until the end of the earning period (Sept. 30 at 11:59 p.m.), the exact amount of each prize remains unknown until then as well.
However, the player who finishes the month on top is guaranteed to win at least $15,000 bonus money. Also, even the player who finishes in 20th place is guaranteed to win at least $250 bonus money.
The following table shows the minimum prize that each of the top 20 players, based on their rank on the September leaderboard, will receive. They might receive more. All prizes are in the form of a guaranteed free play bonus.

Additional secondary prizes
After allocating all of the prizes earmarked for the top 20 finishers in the September race, Golden Nugget will distribute equal amounts of whatever remains in the prize pool to the same 20 players and every other eligible participating player. These secondary prizes will also be in the form of a guaranteed free play bonus.
How to clear the bonus
All prizes will be determined and distributed by 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 1.
But because all of the prizes in the Golden Nugget September race come in the form of bonus money, before participants can withdraw their prize(s) or any additional winnings therefrom, additional wagering is required.
Obviously, a cash prize would be preferred given how much wagering has already occurred to qualify. But the good news is that if you clear the bonus with most slots or with sports bets, you only have to wager the bonus 1x.
You also get to choose the type of bonus you prefer: either a casino bonus or a sports bonus. However, you must pick one or the other. You cannot take both.
Casino bonus
If you pick the casino bonus, you can satisfy the wagering requirement with any game you wish. However, your best bet is to stick to slots since they are the only type of casino game that counts 100 percent. As long as you avoid the 21 slots listed on the Golden Nugget website as “excluded games,” you only have to wager the bonus 1x. Otherwise, if you choose roulette, video poker, or table games, your wagering requirement increases to 4x the bonus, and if you choose any of the 21 excluded slots, your wagering requirement increases to 5x the bonus.
Golden Nugget now offers over 700 slots, so deciding which one to play won’t be easy. But rather than taking your chances with any random slot, we recommend that you check the return to player (RTP) of any slot game you are considering first.
You can get this information simply by opening the “i” tab accompanying each game. Then only play games with an RTP of 96 percent or higher. It won’t guarantee a winning outcome, but it gives you a better chance.
Sports bonus
Alternatively, you can choose the sports bonus. With all of the major league sports back in action in a big way, this might be your most attractive option of all right now, especially since sports bets also carry the token wagering requirement of just 1x the bonus.
Golden Nugget Weekly Missions and yearlong Million Dollar Race
Besides the 12 monthly races, Golden Nugget Online Casino offers many more opportunities to win prizes in its Weekly Missions. And for serious players, there’s the yearlong Million Dollar Race awarding the top 50 players for the entire year the biggest prizes of all. The Promotions section of the Golden Nugget website includes detailed information about these additional opportunities to win.
The bottom line
If you read NJ Gambling Websites regularly, you have probably seen my articles describing the various monthly races that Golden Nugget held in previous months this year. Typically, I caution readers to base your decision about whether or not to participate on your bankroll and level of play.
No matter how big the prizes are, no promotion warrants seriously overbetting your bankroll and exceeding your comfort zone playing. And these races clearly call for a lot more play than the average person can afford.
Therefore, if you honestly believe you have a realistic chance of ranking high enough on the leaderboard to win a prize, go for it. If not, my advice is to save your money and take advantage of other Golden Nugget promotions that offer better bang for your buck.
But this race is different. Even if you have zero chance of racking up a competitive finish in the other races, you should still take part in the September race. This time all you have to do is deposit $20 and over the course of the month earn 50 points, and you’re in the money! That’s because Everyone’s a Winner!

DraftKings & ESPN Start A Co-exclusive content integration agreement
If you’re one of the countless numbers of people who enjoy watching and following and perhaps betting on major sports, either on a casual basis or as an avid fan, the media giant ESPN needs no introduction.
If you’re a sports bettor and have access to the NJ sportsbooks, another name that should need no introduction is DraftKings.
A brief history of DraftKings Sportsbook in New Jersey
DraftKings Sportsbook is headquartered in Boston. The site was established in 2012 by Jason Robins, Matt Kalish, and Paul Liberman.
However, it is important to note that DraftKings got its start strictly in the area of Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS). In fact, even when full-scale sports betting was illegal not only in New Jersey but in virtually all US states, DraftKings was able to establish its presence legally in certain jurisdictions as a daily fantasy sports operator.
DraftKings debuted in New Jersey, but strictly as a DFS site, in August 2017. It became the 16th state to do so.
A year later, on Aug. 6, 2018, the company made an even bigger name for itself in New Jersey. Two months after sports betting became legal in this state, it became the first operator to launch an online sportsbook and mobile app for NJ players to go along with its already existing separate DFS offerings. You can read all about the DraftKings NJ digital sportsbook here on NJ Gambling Websites.
Then in November 2018, DraftKings followed up with a retail sportsbook at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
Today DraftKings ranks as one of the top generating sportsbooks in New Jersey. Furthermore, as DraftKings’ first ever full-scale digital and retail sportsbook, it has served as the model for the growing list of other DraftKings sportsbooks that have launched subsequently in other states, including West Virginia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and more. DraftKings has also expanded into the international market, currently offering DFS products in eight foreign countries.
DraftKings official partnerships with the major leagues–and now ESPN
Now that an increasing number of US states have legalized or are working on legalizing sports betting, the major leagues have no choice but to embrace it. Thus, it is no surprise at all that DraftKings has already entered into multiple partnerships with the major leagues. DraftKings is the official DFS partner of the NFL, MLB, and PGA Tour, an authorized gaming operator of the NBA and MLB, and an official betting operator of the PGA.
But that’s not all. As of Sept. 14, 2020, DraftKings has also partnered with ESPN.
What the multi-year co-exclusive content agreement between DraftKings and ESPN entails
According to a Sept. 14, 2020 press release from DraftKings, the two organizations have entered into a multi-year partnership. Effective immediately, DraftKings Inc. becomes a “co-exclusive sportsbook link-out provider and exclusive daily fantasy sports provider” for ESPN digital platforms.
Under the terms of the agreement, DraftKings will be able to use ESPN’s widely accessed digital platforms to promote its own products and services. Links across ESPN digital platforms will connect interested sports fans to DraftKings’ offerings. You can access the links by visiting www.espn.com on your desktop or mobile device or with the ESPN Fantasy app.
In addition, existing and future ESPN studio shows will include segments promoting DraftKings, starting with the DraftKings sportsbook daily fantasy sports operation.
More about ESPN
ESPN is the acronym for Entertainment Sports Programming Network. It is the world’s leading sports entertainment enterprise, featuring eight US television networks, direct-to-consumer ESPN+, ESPN Radio, ESPN.com and the ESPN mobile app, ESPN International, and more.
ABC, Inc. owns 80 percent of the company, and Hearst owns the remaining 20 percent.
ESPN broadcasts some of the most widely viewed major league sporting events, including Monday night football and other NFL games, along with selected MLB and NBA games. You can also watch NASCAR and Indy Racing League (IRL) events, and all major golf events and tennis Grand Slam events as well as major international events in soccer, cricket, and other sports on ESPN.
Many sports fans also rely on ESPN as their go-to source not only for up-to-the-minute scores and game recaps for games not broadcast locally but also for important sports news and commentary.
Also, now that betting on the games is becoming increasingly accepted as an American pastime, the commentators have become very outspoken about their picks to win or cover the point spread as well. This does not mean that you should necessarily follow them and bet the same way, and definitely not bet the house on their say-so because they are frequently wrong. But you do get these professionals’ opinions free of charge for whatever they are worth.
Summary and conclusion
Just as you would expect, both DraftKings and ESPN are very excited to embark on their new partnership.
Jason Robins, Co-Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of DraftKings had this to say:
“We look forward to this collaboration to exclusively showcase DraftKings’ daily fantasy content and offerings while also advancing further visibility and mainstream adoption of our regulated sports betting products.”
Meanwhile, Mark Walker, Senior Vice President of Business Development & Innovation for ESPN acknowledged ESPN’s own broadened role with regard to sports betting. It needs to address the fact that for a tremendous number of fans, watching sports events and betting them are now closely interrelated.
He brought that point out in the following statement:
“Sports betting is quickly becoming endemic to the overall experience of the overall experience of the sports fan.”
“To us, that means greater opportunities to innovate and deliver the best and most seamless experience for fans, which will ultimately expand ESPN’s brand and audience and increase engagement. It is an industry that we will continue to actively pursue as it grows and evolves.”
In summary, the new co-exclusive content integration agreement between the two sports powerhouses looks like a win-win-win–for DraftKings, ESPN, and you, the fans.
