DraftKings Sportsbook NJ Offers Online NFL Football Pools
Football fans in the New Jersey sports betting market now have a new way to wager on both the NFL and college football. DraftKings Sportsbook has a promotion available to all bettors who want to join the DK online football Pools Contest on the NJ sportsbook.
These online football pools were introduced last season at DraftKings and are now back again for 2019. Instead of just putting some action down on a single game, DraftKings pools allow football fans to pick a specific contest and make predictions for every game on the schedule.
Similar to Daily Fantasy Sports, sportsbook pools give players the freedom to choose exactly which contest they’d like to enter. The pools vary by type, prize pool, number of entries, duration and entry fees.
This promo is a fun way for bettors to have an interest in a wide variety of games, while only committing a fixed amount of money. These betting contests also give bettors some flexibility, as you don’t need to win every single game in order to earn a payout.

Inside DraftKings Football Pools
DraftKings Pools are a great transition for casual bettors or for those who feel more comfortable betting on daily fantasy. The range of pools is extensive as well, so gamblers of all experiences can find a pool that’s right for them.
Currently, DraftKings players can enter pools with the following entry fees:
- $1
- $10
- $500
Of course the prize pool differs based on the entry fee for each contest as well as the number of entries permitted to enter. While the most affordable pools payout $6, the $10 contests have pool prizes ranging from $60 to as much as $10,000.
The $500 entry is for the DraftKings Super Pool. This pool has a $1,000,000 prize pool and pays out anyone who finishes in the top 149 entries. Here are the highest potential winnings bettors can earn by placing in this contest:
- 1st – 25%
- 2nd – 15%
- 3rd – 10%
- 4th-5th – 5%
DraftKings Super Pool begins on Sept. 29 and lasts from Week 4 through Week 17 of the NFL season. In this time, players must select 70 games against the spread in total. There is no weekly pick requirement, though.
After the regular season ends, the entry with the most wins will earn the top prize.
Other pools have different rules, however. DraftKings users can join weekly pools for just Week 2 of the NFL season. In this contest, players pick the winners of the games straight up, instead of against the point spread.
This weekly pool has an unlimited number of entries and payouts are limited to just the top three spots. The pay table for this pool is as follows:
- 1st – 50%
- 2nd – 30%
- 3rd – 20%
Beyond predicting the outcome of NFL games, there are pools available that include strictly college football, as well as props.
There is a pool for Thursday Night Football where bettors must predict what will happen for eight different prop bets specifically for that night’s matchup. Props include which player will score the first touchdown, who will have more passing yards, will there be a safety and so on.
DraftKings Private Pools
Besides the standard pools provided by the online sportsbook, football fans are able to create their own contests to enjoy with friends and family. You’re able to select if it’s for college or NFL, which type of pool it is, the date of the contest and the entry fee price.
This is a great move by DraftKings, as a lot of football enthusiasts love competing against people they’re watching the games with.
Pools are a fun way to have an interest in a lot of different games without having to pay for each bet. They will most likely grow in popularity as the football season intensifies.
NJ Online Sportsbooks Give ‘Props’ To Bryce Harper
Major League Baseball is officially around the corner. Now that Bryce Harper has signed his new, massive 13-year contract, spring training can truly begin.
Harper, who played his first seven years in the big leagues with the Washington Nationals, just signed a highly anticipated deal worth $330 million last week with the Philadelphia Phillies.
This is now the largest contract in North American sports history.
As soon as the signing became official, NJ online sports betting sites, including the FanDuel Sportsbook, saw a lot of action come in on futures betting on the Phils for 2019.
Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook dropped its odds on Philadelphia to win the World Series from +1800 to +1200. These are currently the same odds FanDuel is offering on their NJ gambling websites.
To celebrate the excitement, FanDuel Sportsbook has posted two special Bryce Harper prop bets for fans to wager on.
Bryce Harper prop bets at FanDuel
It’s no surprise that both Harper props on FanDuel are based around the long ball. Today’s baseball is so focused around home runs; bettors might as well get some added joy from them.
The first is Harper’s over/under for the total amount of home runs he’ll hit for the entire season.
- FanDuel initially set the line at over 32.5 (-130), under 32.5 (+110).
Apparently, the fairly high home-run number didn’t deter the local bettors in NJ.
- The line is now sitting at over 33.5 (-120), under 33.5 (+100).
Betting on Harper’s home run numbers
Despite Harper being one of the best home-run hitters in MLB, he’s only surpassed 32 homers twice in his career. He did hit 34 last year for the Nationals.
The other prop bet is, “Will Harper hit a dinger on opening day?”
The Phillies play the Atlanta Braves on March 28, and Harper’s line is set at “Yes” (+320). There is not a “No” option to bet.
Now even though +320 might seem like a long shot, Harper actually hits homers on opening day quite often. In fact, he’s MLB’s active leader in home runs on opening day with five.
Harper enjoyed a stretch from 2015 to 2017 where he hit one at each season opener. Even though he didn’t extend his streak last year, he did bat 2 for 3 and got on base a third time.
It’s clear that Harper comes out of spring training with a little more pep in his step than other major league sluggers.
With all eyes on him making his debut with Philadelphia, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him launch another home run this year.
Golden Nugget AC Is The Latest NJ Casino To Launch An Online Sportsbook
Another new online sportsbook in New Jersey has officially hit the market. The Golden Nugget in Atlantic City joins the competitive battle of mobile sports betting within the Garden State.
Golden Nugget Sportsbook is now the 13th online book in the state.
Despite missing football season, the timing isn’t horrible for the NJ casino. The Academy Awards take place on Sunday, and NCAA’s March Madness begins in about a month. Both events will see plenty of betting action.
Golden Nugget’s NJ online sports betting website is now live and available for desktop and mobile devices with iOS and Android. Apple users can download the app from the iTunes Store while Android customers must download it directly from Golden Nugget Casino’s website.
The app is powered by SBTech.
Golden Nugget online sportsbook
Golden Nugget enters NJ gambling websites sports betting space after making its mark in the online casino industry and the Golden Nugget Sportsbook in AC. Its mobile casino is regarded as the best in NJ.
Golden Nugget’s existing casino app will be important to find its footing in an already busy sports-betting scene. Its previously established customers will not need to create a new login for the sportsbook.
This should allow many of Golden Nugget’s active online casino users to easily transition their sports betting to the new part of the app instead of using another platform. Customers will utilize a shared wallet between the casino and sportsbook.
For those who don’t already use the casino app, signing up is easy.
By simply providing some personal information like your name, date of birth, address, phone number, email and last four digits of your Social Security number, you will have created an account.
You’ll receive a confirmation email when complete.
You must be 21 years old and located within NJ to use the sportsbook.
Golden Nugget sports betting
Golden Nugget Sportsbook has a large variety of sports to wager on. They include:
- Aussie rules football
- Baseball
- Basketball
- Boxing
- Cricket
- Cycling
- Football
- Golf
- Hockey
- Mixed martial arts
- Motor racing
- Rugby union
- Soccer
- Tennis
One interesting note, however, is that the sportsbook currently doesn’t offer any NBA betting at this point.
Tilman Fertitta, the owner of the Golden Nugget, is also the owner of the NBA’s Houston Rockets.
Since there would be a potential conflict of interest, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has currently prohibited the sportsbook from taking bets on the NBA.
Golden Nugget executives are working toward changing this ruling, though. They are looking to be able to offer NBA games not involving the Rockets, as Golden Nugget Sportsbook in Las Vegas does.
You are still able to bet on college basketball as well as the EuroLeague.
More about Golden Nugget Sportsbook
Beyond sports, Golden Nugget is providing odds for the Academy Awards.
It has a total of 24 options for the Oscar awards show including the popular choices like Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
The sportsbook will also feature live in-game betting for the majority of sporting events. NJ bettors can gamble on games that have already started.
When joining, new customers will be eligible to receive an initial deposit bonus up to $1,000 and a bonus bet of $50 with your first wager.
Hard Rock AC, Resorts Online Join Crowded NJ Sports Betting Scene
Just in time for Super Bowl 2019, New Jersey residents now have another alternative when it comes to NJ online sports betting.
Hard Rock Atlantic City just launched its new sportsbook app, about a week before Super Bowl Sunday.
The launch of the mobile app marks NJ’s 10th online sportsbook. Bettors within the Garden State now have an abundance of options to find as many odd prop bets as possible before the Patriots take on the Rams this weekend.
Hard Rock AC got permission Jan. 25 from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to begin testing its app for mobile sports wagering. The official soft-play period began Saturday.
A little hiccup before Hard Rock’s launch
The news broke about Hard Rock online sportsbook in part by accident on Friday. Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), the company behind the sportsbook app, sent out a press release, however, it was supposed to be embargoed.
After taking down the release from the website, the app went live the next day.
Despite the mishap, all parties involved are very excited about their optimistic future together.
“We are delighted to have reached another achievement in our partnership with Hard Rock,” said Robin Reed, CEO of GiG.
“Hard Rock has global recognition, unparalleled reach and the same high ambitions as us. We look forward to continuing to support Hard Rock’s growth in New Jersey and expansion around the world.”
Even though the casino missed its opportunity to accept wagers all football season, it will be available for one of the most popular betting days of the year with Super Bowl 2019 and March Madness.
The online book will also be offering lines on other common sports including basketball, hockey, soccer, baseball and college sports.
Hard Rock AC adds a land-based sportsbook
As mentioned, Hard Rock and GiG’s partnership also encompasses a land-based sportsbook at its Atlantic City location. The on-site sportsbook opened for business Wednesday.
The new retail book is still a temporary space with a more expansive, permanent book coming in the future.
Both the land-based and online sportsbooks, as well as Hard Rock online casino, are all powered by GiG. For NJ sports betting fans, this means that the NJ gambling website shares a wallet with its online sportsbook.
Resorts joins the NJ online sports betting crowd, too
Not to be outdone, Resorts launched its self-branded online sportsbook with partner SBTech on Thursday. The addition brings the total online sportsbook count in New Jersey to 11.
Resorts, for its part, already has made a name for itself via its partnership with DraftKings Sportsbook and BetStars NJ. Combined, the two have brought the digital end of the company to the top of the market. Now it has filled its quota of online sports betting skins with three.
Sports betting in New Jersey has been popular from the start when Monmouth Park and Borgata opened their betting windows in June. DraftKings Sportsbook launched in early August as the first online option.
New Jersey’s total handle is now more than $1.2 billion in sports bets. That number should continue to increase, and perhaps very quickly.
A recent report said there could be $100 million bet legally on the Super Bowl just in NJ. At the very least, the Hard Rock Cafe will be hosting an “Epic Tailgate Party” for the big game.
Top NJ Online Sportsbooks To Bet On During Super Bowl 2019
Super Bowl 2019 is now less than a week away. The biggest game of the year will take place Sunday, Feb. 3, in Atlanta when the New England Patriots take on the Los Angeles Rams.
Bettors everywhere in New Jersey will be doing their homework this week to determine what kind of action they may take on the Super Bowl.
With so many different NJ gambling websites to choose from in the Garden State, we’re going to break down which NJ online sports betting sites are the best and share some of the unique bets these books are offering.
DraftKings Sportsbook
- Patriots -2.5 (-115), -137
- Rams +2.5 (-106), +118
DraftKings Sportsbook has been the most successful in terms of revenue within NJ. Since being the first available in the state, it has held the top spot every month.
Part of its success is the extensive amount of bets offered for just about every sporting event. Of course, the Super Bowl is no different.
One of the more interesting bets on DraftKings is variations of game parlays. Most sportsbooks won’t allow you to create a parlay with two related legs. For instance, you can’t parlay the Patriots and the over together.
However, with game parlays, DraftKings gives several different parlay choices combining both teams and the over/under. It allows you to choose from the money line or spread along with the over or under in creating a parlay.
You could take the Patriots and the over together at odds of +225 or go the opposite route and bet the Rams and the under at +290.
DraftKings has a very exclusive Super Bowl 2019 limited time offer as well. Deposit $5 or more and receive ten free $10 bets + up to $600 match deposit bonus. The promotion ends immediately following Super Bowl 53, so get your bets in soon!
BetStars NJ Sportsbook
- Patriots -2.5 (-110), -137
- Rams +2.5 (-110), +120
Another very successful sportsbook in NJ is BetStars. The online and mobile app uses Resorts Atlantic City’s license alongside DraftKings.
BetStars NJ has plenty of betting options for the big game as well. One that stood out was its version of a touchdown prop bet.
It allows you to choose from a long list of players to determine who will score the first touchdown of the game or the last touchdown of the game. The majority of these pay out very well.
It even lets you bet if one of the players scores a touchdown at any point in the game.
Todd Gurley, who is one of the favorites, is currently listed at +700 to score the first touchdown, +600 to score the last touchdown and -162 to score one at any point.
BetStars gives its new customers $500 in bonus bets when joining.
FanDuel NJ Sportsbook
- Patriots -2 (-115), -132
- Rams +2 (-105), +116
FanDuel Sportsbook is another great option in NJ. In December, the book pulled in more than $5.5 million in revenue.
This New Jersey sports betting site has an incredible amount of prop bets for Super Bowl 2019. Of the endless list of player and team props, the most distinctive bet available is based around penalty yardage.
You can bet on the over/under for combined penalty yards for the game along with team-specific penalty yardage. The line for total penalty yards is at 94.5. It also allows you to bet on the number of penalties for each side. The Patriots’ number is set at 5.5, while the Rams are at 6.5.
FanDuel’s sign-up offer gives bettors up to a $500 refund if you lose your first bet.
Caesars NJ Sportsbook
- Patriots -2.5 (-115), -145
- Rams +2.5 (-105), +125
Caesars Sportsbook has a lot to choose from for the Super Bowl as well. While the Atlantic City casino doesn’t have a book, it has close ties to sister casino, Bally’s Atlantic City.
The first noticeable difference for Caesars is its money line for the game. Both the Patriots’ and Rams’ odds seem to be the highest of most sportsbooks.
This could be something to note for those bettors who plan on taking the Rams’ money line. They’re listed at +125 right now.
Another interesting bet at Caesars is the alternate lines available. The sportsbook doesn’t just give you an additional one or two options, but rather six. This ranges as far as getting the Patriots at +7.5 (-350) to Patriots -17.5 (+600).
Caesars Sportsbook gives its new users $10 free when signing up and up to $300 bonus on deposit.
888 Sport NJ
- Patriots -2.5 (-115), -139
- Rams +2.5 (-106), +115
888 Sportsbook is a quality option for NJ sports bettors, too. It uses the Caesars’ license to operate in the Garden State.
Although the book has many great features and a variety of sports to bet, there aren’t that many options for Super Bowl 2019 as of Jan. 28.
Besides betting on the point spread, money line or game total, the only other offerings are for first half wagers.
The Patriots are -0.5 (-104) and the Rams are +.05 (-117) for the opening half. The money line is also listed with the Patriots at -136 and Rams +105. The first half over/under is set at 27.5 points.
888 NJ Sport will give you $10 free when signing up, and up to $500 on deposit.
SugarHouse Sportsbook
- Patriots -2.5 (-115), -139
- Rams +2.5 (-106), +115
The final site worth noting is the SugarHouse Sportsbook. SugarHouse uses Monmouth Park’s license.
The most intriguing bet on its site has to be the option to choose what the winning margin of Super Bowl 2019 will be.
You’re able to decide if the home or away team will win by 1-6 points, 7-12 points, 13-18 points and so on. The lower discrepancies have odds around +350; however, if you bet the margin to be between 25-30 points, it’s +1,900 for the Patriots and +2,800 for the Rams.
Another fun wager is simply will the Patriots win the game 20-17. There isn’t an option to bet no, but the yes selection has odds of +3,300. A $10 bet would net you $330.
SugarHouse Sportsbook NJ will give you a first-deposit bonus of up to $250.
Break Out The Record Books: NJ Online Gambling Revenue Hits New Milestone
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) announced that the state’s online casino revenue set another record in December 2018. Online gaming netted $29 million in the month, up nearly 40 percent from this period a year ago.
In the five-year history of NJ gambling websites, no month had ever exceeded $27 million. This is now the third-straight month that NJ online casinos have set the record for total revenue.
For the calendar year, the online casino market in NJ pulled in $298.7 million. That is almost a 22 percent increase from 2017.
Golden Nugget’s taking charge
These record-breaking statistics are due in large part to the success that Golden Nugget has sustained. The casino alone broke the $10 million mark in online gaming last month.
Despite posting quality numbers last year, the $10,178,563 in revenue in December 2018 is more than a 67 percent rise from 2017. This was by far the largest growth compared to every other casino.
It wasn’t just a lucky month, either. For the entire year, Golden Nugget took in more than $100 million in online gaming, up almost 53 percent.
December growth in NJ online gaming
The majority of online casinos in NJ saw their revenue grow in December as well.
Resorts Atlantic City was up 36 percent from last year, totaling $4,353,648 in the final month of the calendar. This was the second-largest expansion behind the Golden Nugget.
Borgata, along with Caesars, also chipped in, seeing bumps of 17.3 and 16.8 percent, respectively. They each just beat out Resorts in spite of its massive growth, with Borgata earning just over $5 million and Caesars $4.4 million for the month.
Tropicana was the only casino to take a slight step back from a year ago. It saw a 5.4 percent decrease from December 2017. But it still brought in more than $3 million.
Hard Rock online casino and Ocean Resort Casino brought up the rear. Both online casinos just launched this summer so their numbers will be lower than their NJ neighbors. Hard Rock totaled $1.3 million in December. This is its seventh-straight month of increased revenue since opening.
Ocean Resort didn’t fare as well. It posted just $478,717 in December, down from more than $700,000 in November.
Online poker making a final push in 2018
Although online poker numbers were down almost 9 percent for the entire year, a solid December showing gives promise for 2019.
Poker revenue for the month was nearly $1.8 million, up more than $200,000 from November. This was the largest month-to-month increase for 2018.
Even though online poker isn’t producing as well as in the past, it is still very much a key contributor in the NJ online gambling market.
Let’s not forget NJ online sports betting
New Jersey sports betting also ended the year on a high note. The Garden State had its best month in terms of revenue in online sports wagers with $14,650,636.
This figure just edged out an impressive November, which topped $14 million as well. The DraftKings and FanDuel sportsbooks continue to dominate the market share, combining for more than $12 million in online revenue.
With NJ online casino revenue ending the year with another record, sports betting earns its place alongside the online juggernaut.
Borgata Sportsbook Will Get A New Look For NJ Sports Betting By Summer
The market-leading resort in Atlantic City will invest more than $11 million into the development of a new sportsbook.
The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced its plans Wednesday to add a venue that will combine an entertaining bar environment with legal sports gambling.
The new Borgata sportsbook will debut this summer.
Borgata was the first Atlantic City casino to take a legal sports bet last June.
Since then, Borgata partnered with GVC Holdings to launch its mobile sports betting app, playMGM.
The online sportsbook brought in just under $200,000 in revenue in November. The casino, including its temporary sportsbook, topped more than $1 million in total revenue in sports wagers for the month.
Borgata sportsbook gets new life
As New Jersey sports betting continues to get more popular and grow, AC casinos must adjust to make its sportsbook experience more appealing to potential customers.
With this plan set in stone, Borgata is taking another step forward in solidifying its place among the top of the NJ sports betting market.
Marcus Glover, president and COO for Borgata, was eager to to put the plans in motion:
“Since Borgata arrived in the Atlantic City market more than 15 years ago, we have maintained a steadfast dedication to property growth and development, with our new concept exemplifying this objective. We are proud to have been at the forefront of legalized sports betting in New Jersey and look forward to advancing our product with an innovative gaming and entertainment experience for our guests to enjoy.”
Borgata, owned and operated by MGM Resorts International, is hoping its expertise in sports betting can lead the casino to more success.
It’s unknown what amenities to expect at the new sportsbook; one can imagine it being on par with what MGM has been able to do in Las Vegas.
MGM has more than 25 years of experience in Nevada sports wagering. Its resorts pull in an annual handle of more than $1 billion.
To boot, it recently inked partnerships with the NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLB and the New York Jets. The partnerships give MGM access not only to official data but also a marketing avenue as well.
Closing the gap in NJ sports betting
Despite having the ability to bet on sports within the casino, Borgata didn’t have a place dedicated strictly to being a sportsbook — until now. It has been using its pre-existing racebook as a temporary fixture.
This could be a large part of the discrepancy between the Borgata sportsbook revenue compared to others in the city.
The brand new William Hill Sportsbook at Ocean Resort Casino has been doing substantially better than Borgata. Its 7,500-square-foot area has been extremely profitable and has gotten great reviews.
Ocean’s retail book earned revenue of nearly $2 million in November, more than double Borgata.
By committing to a permanent area worth $11 million, Borgata is making a hard push to challenge Ocean. It hopes to claim the top spot in Atlantic City sports betting. Perhaps the new venue will differentiate Borgata from its peers and give bettors an unparalleled experience.
New York Jets Snag Two Gambling Partnerships With MGM And 888 Casino
MGM Resorts International has agreed to terms on a partnership with the NFL’s New York Jets to promote its PlayMGM NJ gambling website platforms and mobile apps as well as its casino locations.
The multi-year deal makes MGM Resorts the official gaming partner of the Jets. The agreement is the first of its kind and the most in-depth gaming partnership yet in the NFL.
Jets fans will now have access to a predictive mobile game on the Official New York Jets App. MGM Resorts will also sponsor and have access to the Jets 360 Production Studio at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center.
The Play MGM Studio will be the multimedia home for all Jets 360 content.
The NFL and legal sports betting
By creating this partnership, the New York Jets are helping bridge the gap between the NFL and legal New Jersey sports betting. The league only recently began to allow any type of sponsorship agreements between teams and casinos.
Both Jets President Neil Glat and MGM Resorts Chairman and CEO Jim Murren are very optimistic about this brave new world.
“We could not be more excited to join with the New York Jets for a first-of-its-kind partnership in the NFL,” said Murren. “We look forward to working with the Jets to innovate gaming, increase our customer base through cross marketing opportunities and provide NFL fans with a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience.”
Of course, the NFL still prohibits any mention or promotion of sports betting. The partnership with MGM is purely for online gambling and not specifically sports betting.
Jet up
MGM Resorts will now be marketing with the Jets through signs at MetLife Stadium, along with social and digital advertisements for Jets TV and radio broadcasts.
Jets season ticket holders and rewards members will reap some of the benefits of this new deal. These will include first-class entertainment experiences and luxury rooms at its Borgata property in Atlantic City and other MGM properties in the US.
“We are proud to partner with an iconic brand like MGM Resorts and its renowned properties to bring a world-class gaming and entertainment experience to our fans,” said Glat. “This unique partnership also enables us to further engage our fans in the mobile and digital world.”
Part of this mobile expansion and interaction is based around the Jets’ “I Called It” game. The improved version will now consist of pre-play options, enhanced in-play features, more prizes, and larger leaderboards featuring Jets fans.
888 Casino and beyond
On top of the collaboration with MGM Resorts, the Jets have reportedly gotten a new sponsor from NJ online casino 888 Casino.
It’s the first time an NFL team has conducted any business with an online gambling company. Although the deal doesn’t technically sponsor the sports wagering side of 888 Casino, 888 Sportsbook is located on the same website right next to the casino and 888 Poker.
With these strategic moves, the Jets will more than likely set the trend for other NFL teams.
There’s too much money and potential in online gambling for teams like the New York Giants not to get involved like the Jets. With eight online sportsbooks in New Jersey and nine casinos, they have several entities to choose from.
It will only be a matter of time for other teams outside the state, too. Whether the NFL likes it or not, teams and casinos will be doing a lot more business moving forward.
