Caesars Rewards Online $1 Million NFL Pick’Em Contest Starts This Week
The 2020 sports season is like none other in history. Therefore, even now, with all of the major leagues back in action, no one can say with absolute certainty that it will continue that way uninterruptedly for the rest of the year.
But the great news for all of you football fans is that the fall NFL season stated on Thurs., 9/10, as scheduled, and will be followed by a full slate of games on Sunday and Monday.
More great news is that the Caesars Rewards Online $1 Million NFL Pick’Em Contest kicks off this weekend, too.
Entering The 2020 Caesars $1 Million NFL Pick’Em Contest is completely FREE!
This will be the third consecutive season for legal sports betting in New Jersey, and as always, of all of the sports betting options available to you, wagering on the NFL is by far the most popular. Along with all of the seasoned sports bettors, thousands of others who never place sports bets otherwise come out of the woodwork to root for and have a few bucks riding on their favorite teams.
But whether you choose to bet real money or not, NFL pick’em contests are also a lot of fun. And some of them, like the Caesars contest, everyone can access because entering doesn’t cost a cent.
The difference between the 2020 Caesars Rewards $1 Million NFL Pick’Em Contest and Caesars’ 2019 NFL Pick’Em contest
Last year Caesars Rewards also offered a free weekly NFL Pick’Em contest. Each week of the regular NFL season, participants had to pick which team they thought would win each of the Sunday and Monday games outright. They were allowed only one entry per week, which they made by swiping their Caesars Rewards card at one of the designated kiosks at Harrah’s, Bally’s, or Caesars Atlantic City.
Caesars offered a grand prize for any player who picked the correct winner of all 220 games included in the contest.
No one did, but the player with the most correct picks won two Super Bowl tickets, the player in second place won two tickets to the NFL Draft Experience in Las Vegas, and the player in third place won a Las Vegas Super Bowl Viewing Experience.
In addition, the 10 players with the most correct picks each week received a share of $10,000 in free play, and other players won prizes in weekly fan appreciation drawings.
This year, however, Caesars has made two important changes to the $1 Million NFL Pick’Em Contest. First and foremost, instead of entering your weekly picks at a participating Atlantic City casino, the entire contest will now take place online.
In addition, while your task is the same as before–to pick the winners of each Sunday and Monday NFL game–the weekly prize pool is much bigger, and so is the number of winners. Every week the 60 top players will win a share of $60,000!
Are you eligible to participate?
The Caesars Rewards NFL Pick’Em Contest is open to residents of all 50 states and Washington, D.C. who are age 21 or older. No purchase is necessary to enter or win, and a purchase will not improve your chances.
However, you must have access to a computer or mobile device, and you must be a Caesars Rewards member. If you’re not already a member, you can sign up free of charge at any Caesars Rewards center or online at https://www.caesars.com/program/, or via the Caesars Rewards mobile app.
How the 2020 Caesars Rewards $1 Million NFL Pick’Em Contest works
Before you can start making your weekly selections for this NFL Pick’Em Contest, you will need to register online at www.Caesars.com/NFLpickem and log in using your Caesars Rewards account information.
You also need to create a nickname for Caesars to use on the weekly leaderboards. Your nickname cannot be or be construed as offensive.
The leaderboards, which will be publicly available, will display each participant’s contest nickname, his or her current number of points, and current rank.
The contest starts with week 1 of the regular NFL season and continues each week thereafter through week 17. However, it will include the Sunday and Monday games only. Therefore, assuming all of these games are played and completed all 17 weeks as scheduled, the contest will include a total of 238 games.
Activating your entries
In order for your correct picks each week to count and get points for them, however, you need to activate your entries. You can do this in either of the following ways:
- Earn at least one Tier Credit the same week playing games for real money at a participating Caesars Rewards property. Only slots, video poker, keno, and table games count, not sports bets or poker. You have any time from the preceding Monday to 15 minutes before the start of the first game on Sunday to activate your entries in this manner.
- By mail: Complete the online entry form here or legibly print on a separate piece of paper your full name, Caesars Rewards account number, date of birth, phone number, email address, and week number of the contest.
- Then mail the form in an envelope with first-class postage to Caesars Entertainment, One Harrah’s Court, Las Vegas, NV 89119, Attn: Caesars Rewards NFL Pick’Em Promotion. All mail-in activations must be postmarked no later than the preceding Tuesday and received no later than Saturday of the applicable week.
What each week’s entries must include
The period for making your picks for both the Sunday games and the Monday game(s) each week of the contest opens the preceding Monday at 12 a.m. PT (3 a.m. ET) and closes 15 minutes before the start of the first game on Sunday.
Your task for each game is to pick which team you think will win outright. Whether or not the team covers the point spread doesn’t matter.
Don’t omit any games. If you have no idea which team will win or you can’t make up your mind, guess anyway because you might still be right.
The same applies to the total score for the last NFL game each week. You need to enter what you think will be the total score for both teams combined in the last NFL game being played each week.
Caesars will use this information as a tie-breaker, if necessary. These are the games for which you will need to enter a total score:
- Week 1: Second Monday night football game (Denver Broncos vs. Tennessee Titans)
- Weeks 2-16: Monday night football game
- Week 17: Sunday night football game
If a tie still exists after the designated tiebreaker is applied or if the game gets postponed or canceled, no tie-breaker will be used that week and the winners will share the applicable prizes equally.
Weekly prizes in the Caesars Rewards Online $1 Million NFL Pick’Em Contest
You will receive one point for each correct pick. Or, if a game ends in a tie, either team will count as a correct pick.
Each week of the contest, the top 60 participants with the most points will receive a share of the $60,000 prize pool. The prizes will be distributed as follows:
Weekly Leaderboard Points | Prize |
1st place | $20,000 cash |
2nd-5th place | $2,500 cash |

Claiming your prizes
Caesars will contact potential prize winners using the contact information included with their Caesars Rewards account. Potential winners will then need to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility, along with a release of liability, tax paperwork, and publicity release documents within 48 hours.
All claims for prizes will be subject to validation. You are not a winner until you receive official notification from the Sponsor.
Winners of cash prizes will receive their prize in the form of a check mailed to the address on record within 30 days of being claimed. Any taxes associated with these prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
Reward Credits won in this promotion cannot be exchanged for cash but can be redeemed in accordance with the rules of the Caesars Rewards program.
All prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
Three ways to place your sports bets–online, via a mobile app, or in-person
Unless you activate your weekly entries by mail, you will need to visit a participating property at least once for this purpose. However, betting on any of the games is optional.
If you do decide to bet, as always, you have many choices. For example, all of the Atlantic City casino-affiliated sportsbooks are ready when you are to take your bets online or on your mobile device anywhere in New Jersey or, if you prefer, at the sportsbook itself.
You will find a complete list of all of your online, mobile, and retail NJ sports betting options on NJ Gambling Websites.
When Caesars Rewards first announced the 2020 NFL Pick-Em Contest, its two Atlantic City sportsbooks were still closed. That is why Caesars decided to run the contest online even though both sportsbooks have since reopened.
All of the Atlantic City casino sportsbooks, including those at Bally’s Wild West and Harrah’s Resort, which had been closed all summer, are now open for extended hours daily.
So if you wish, making your bet in person and watching multiple games at once, including in-play bets, on giant size screens at the sportsbook is again an option.
But different sportsbooks may have different policies regarding hours of operation, kiosk availability, whether seating is by reservation or first come first served, and whether or not you can eat and drink on the premises. In any case, maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask (except when eating or drinking) are required.
Caesars is converting their Atlantic City sportsbooks to William Hill
In addition, the sportsbooks at Bally’s Wild Wild West and Harrah’s, formerly known as The Book at Bally’s and the Book at Harrah’s, are currently in the process of being converted to William Hill Sportsbooks.
As of this writing, you can still present your Caesars Rewards card when you place your bets to receive Reward Credits and Tier Credits, but at some point (probably soon), this benefit will cease. The previous policy of handing out vouchers for free drinks to anyone who wagered $50 or more has already stopped.
William Hill has operated the sportsbook at Tropicana Atlantic City from day 1 and will continue to do so. After the Caesars-Eldorado merger, I hoped that the Tropicana sportsbook would convert to a Caesars-Rewards sportsbook since casino play at the Tropicana now earns Caesars Rewards. But for sports betting, the reverse is true.
Instead of presenting your Caesars Rewards card if you want to get credit for your sports bets at Bally’s or Harrah’s, just like at the Tropicana, you will need to show a William Hill Sports Rewards card. This is significant and not good news for anyone who bets a large amount of money on sports.
Under the previous arrangement, you would earn 1 Reward Credit and 1 Tier Credit for every dollar wagered. That would add up to $50 in comps and 5,000 Tier Credits once your wagers reached $5,000. However, the same $5,000 wagered on straight bets at William Hill earns you nothing more than a free $5 bet.
The choice of either a casino or sports betting Welcome Bonus for new players has also been discontinued
I don’t know how Caesars Casino & Sports will reward players for their online and mobile sports bets going forward.
However, the Welcome Bonus for new players of a 100 percent deposit match bonus up to $300 on their first deposit no longer offers a choice of either a casino bonus or sports betting bonus. It’s now valid for casino games only.
Are you ready to win some big money this football season?
In summary, I can’t say I love everything about the Caesars Rewards program. But giving credit where credit is due, I commend the people who designed this year’s $1 Million NFL Pick’Em Contest for offering a great opportunity for football fans all over the country.
There’s no entry fee whatsoever. And with 60 huge prizes being handed out each week, how could you not want to take a shot?
