Once the free football bet has been credited to your account, you can access it either online or via the Borgata or BetMGM mobile app. Simply log into Borgata Sports or BetMGM Sports using the same login as for your casino account.

Be sure to wager the entire $10 on a single football game within the allotted seven-day period. Also, keep in mind that any applicable surcharge or vig needs to be counted as part of the bet.

For example, if you want to make a cash bet against the point spread at a sportsbook, hoping to win $10, you would bet $11. Then, if you win, you would get back $21 (the $11 you bet plus the $10 you win).

But in this case, you’re betting a total of $10, not $11, and win or lose, Borgata or BetMGM keeps the cost of the bonus bet. So if you win, unless you are betting the underdog on the moneyline, expect to get back less than $10.

Furthermore, before you will be permitted to withdraw your winnings, you must meet an additional wagering requirement of 6x your bonus bet ($60). Too good to be true?

Nope

Each time, the point spread or over/under bet you make, hoping to win $100 loses, you lose $110, and over time all of those extra $10 losses add up. That’s why if you were to bet the same amount on every game all season long, whether it’s $100 or any other amount, a winning percentage of 50 percent won’t cut it.

You would need to win at a 53 percent or better clip to show a profit.
